YAM art at the Huntsville Museum of Art!

Congratulations to Monte Sano Elementary's Sophia St.John and Anna Lauren Mathis and Jones Valley Elementary's Ryan Saunders and Kate Stone for having artwork selected to be displayed in the Huntsville Museum of Art's YAM Celebration!

Ryan Saunders and Kate Stone hold their certificates of commendation
sent to them by the Huntsville Museum of Art.

YAM (Youth Art Month) is celebrated every year by the Huntsville Museum of Art.  Check it out while it's still there!  (And don't forget the downstairs Childrens' Art Gallery!)

JVE students win Panoply Billboard Art Contest!

Congratulations to Weleda, Tess, and Ian!  Ian Artrip's artwork will be featured on a billboard somewhere in Huntsville that will be advertizing Panoply Arts Festival!
Ian Artrip placed 1st, Weleda placed 2nd, and Tess 3rd place in the
Panoply Billboard Art Contest this year!

Ben Kvach views his artwork hanging at The Children's Community Gallery!

Ben Kvach and his brother recently visited the Huntsville Museum of Art's Children's Art Gallery. Ben's Impression Sunrise-inspired watercolor hangs behind him.

If you are going to the art museum, please go during the month of March!  This is when YAM (Youth Art Month) is celebrated!  Students from all over north Alabama have their artwork hanging at the museum's upstairs.  Students from JVE and MSE have two pieces each upstairs.   AND... we currently have 20 works from MSE and 20 works from JVE hanging downstairs.

I went to the YAM awards ceremony at the museum this past weekend, to find to my surprise that the museum has revamped it's upstairs educational and interactive art gallery for children.  It is totally fantastic!  Plus, it has my favorite style of art - Expressionism - showcased there!

Please take time to take your child to the Huntsville Museum of Art during the month of March!
