3rd Grade Self-Portraits

Jones Valley 3rd graders have just finished some fun self-portraits - and just in time for Mardi Gras!  We combined Warhol's Pop-Art and Kandinsky's Expressionism in our art piece.  Student works were created to convey the value of emotion in art.  Each child thought about an emotion they wished to depict, and then expressed it in their piece.  We also used lively brushstrokes and marks and 3-D pieces to create movement in our work.  Students seemed to greatly enjoy being involved in the creation of this artwork.
