JVE's 2nd Grade Wild Things!
Second graders had a blast creating their very own Wild Things! Students listened to the book Where the Wld Things Are and learned about three different types of texture: stippling, hatching, and cross-hatching. They then designed their Wild Thing and added movement - to show it was doing the dance of the Wild Rumpass. Students drew, traced, and painted their Wild Thing for 4-5 art lessons. We wrapped up our Wild Things unit by watching a very short video where Maurice Sendak himself narrates his animated book Where the Wild Things Are: http://youtu.be/TbXS7gNIGIY
